Sometimes I need a little help from my friends

Okay, this is to all my Blogger friends, since the Blogger help function has failed in itsfunction. Can anyone tell me if and how I can put part of my lengthier posts " behind the cut" - or as some might know it "keep reading"? On livejournal I could type in a code that would do it, but I haven't been able to find how to do it here.

Anyone?.....Anyone?....

off the top of my head I don't know the fancy way but the quick & easy way is to post your headline and put the read more section in a comment...

I have never tried to do this, and am not sure how. But check out this website, it has a lot of info on Blogger:

Let me know if you are successful.

Check out this page too, Laurie. It deals specifically, I think, with what you want. Pay no attention to how late I'm up.

Thanks for all the advice. I've learned from all this that the Blogger way of doing this is so complicated I will certainly never do it. On Livejournal all you had to do was type a brief little 7 character code before and after the text you wanted to hide. I was hoping for something that simple. It's not like I'm doing this for a living after all.

Jeri, my clock read 10:45, if I don't do the math you're not up very late at all. You should check out Paul's blog for today. One of the posts is a quote about the hours between midnight and 4 am. I can certainly relate. I told Paul that I like those hours, but I want the daytime too. It's a pickle.

Yes, and like everything else in life, we can't have it both ways.

If I hear anything else about how to divide your posts up I'll let you know. Even Jennie, the almost all-knowing Blogger, didn't know.
