Why is America crumbling?
I'll let founding father John Adams explain:
"We have no government armed with powers capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."Our system of government was designed with the understanding that it would be governing those already governed to an even greater degree by religious faith and conscience. Without these forces as cement, the entire structure begins to crumble.

Wow. I've read that before, Laurie, but your focus on it really brings it home. Sad and makes sense.
The question for me is whether today's believers are doing all they can to be the salt in society. The world seems to be influencing us more than we are influencing the world.
I found it so interesting to hear one of the founders state right from the beginnings this newly created system of government had this huge requirement/limitation. Unfortunately its a limitation that's been completely disregarded. It's as if a pilot looked at the weight limits for his craft, completely ignoring them and loading up with double the limit. He'd be a fool to expect anything less than disaster.
I left a comment with a link in it, but it didn't show up. Might be in your spam filter.
I'm not finding it. Maybe you could try it one more time?
I am starting to see some characterize America as a post-Christian nation.
The founding of our country corresponded with mighty movings of God. Think the Reformation, early on, and The Great Awakening during our nations beginnings.
I wonder if our so called "Christian nation" isn't simply a great lie of the Great Bastard.
God deals with individuals through election. The only nation that was his chosen was Israel.
Perhaps the whole notion of a Christian nation is our arrogance.
Perhaps, rather than bemoaning a loss over what we may not have ever had, we should diligently seeking God for revival.
Abba, please move upon the inhabitants of this nation in a mighty, and moving way. Please pour your spirit upon us, please call millions, that our nation might be brimming with your children, rather than your children presuming they are safe in a dreamed upon Christian nation.
I have not thought this through completely, but that is where my mind is these days.
