The old grey mare,

she aint what she used to be; and she don't want to be what she was.

I'm tired, overworked, but otherwise pretty happy. I'd rather be this way, than the hopeless, unsaved wretch I was four years ago. The holidays are coming, and there's not much rest in sight, but God has never failed to give me the grace to do what He's given me to do. Everybody wants a clean house for the holidays, and I'm a gal that makes houses clean - well, except my house.

That's all I've got. Told you I was tired.

Lori, how exciting that God drew you to Himself 4 years ago. I would love to hear your testimony when you have time!

Since you are walking with Him everyday, He will give you the strength.

"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:1-2

You and I may be tired, but we run with endurance. Our rest is coming, one day in the Lord, forever.

Deborah,
I'd love to. If you e-mail me with your e-mail address I'll tell my story. I've thought about writing up a testimony for my blog, but haven't decided about it yet.

Andi,
Thanks. Your friendship is very uplifting.

This is a time of year for busyness, isn't it? I pray that you will get some rest. And as you clean, work as unto the Lord. I always try to remember that no matter what I'm doing; cleaning toilets or writing a novel (wish). When I'm really tired I remember Isaiah 40:31 that says "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." May the Lord give you His strength to complete the work He gives you to do.

You're not calling yourself the old grey mare, are you?

Angela,

You'd be amazed how old you can feel at such a young age. And, as for the grey, the reason you don't see it, is 'cause I can still pluck 'em faster than they're coming in, which should last about another 6 mos. or so.

And Debbie,

Thanks for your words of encouragement, and prayers. I was able to work nearly six hours without so much as stopping for a snack. The job was bigger than I expected, but the rest of the week is downhill from there.
