Good times...

Well, it's about time I put up some pictures of the big doings around here from the last few days. Tony graduated from high school on Thursday night. It was a wonderful night, with a merciful break in the weather (a warm and clear evening sandwiched in between two days of rain with one very dangerous lightning storm). High school was a rough time for Tony, and so we were so proud of him that he saw it through to the end and graduated on time. Paul and I were there, of course. His father, Joe, along with his long-time girlfriend, Annabella, were up from L.A. for the occasion. And then there were Gina and Tony's girlfriend, Erika. We all had a fine time. It was Paul's first time meeting my kids' dad, which made me just a bit nervous; but it went well. Paul took a near instant liking to Joe, commenting that no one had ever told him that Joe had that big "radio voice", which I thought was hilarious, because I'd never noticed and always thought it was Paul who has the "radio voice". What a crack-up. Anyway, here are some pictures:

And, no, Tony's not really angry in any of these pictures. Ever since he was a little kid he's found it amusing to make faces for the camera. It's very difficult to get a regular smile from him. You really have to catch him off guard.

Moriah read your post and said, "Wow, how awkward!" I think it's pretty cool that Joe was able to make it.
Congratulations Mama!

Andi, you can tell Moriah it wasn't really that awkward at all. The first moments were strange, with him meeting Paul, but from there it was fine. The kid's dad and I have long since forgiven each other and think well of each other. The longer she lives, the more she'll see how God can work miracles like that in peoples lives.

Judy, thanks - I always thought they were cute myself!

Gosh, I remember how horrible high school was. It's so cool how Tony stuck it out, I am so very happy for you guys! What's he thinking about doing now?

Thanks, Crissy. The plan, so far as I understand it, is for him to goof off for the better part of the summer as well as to get his driver's license, then to go down to L.A. to work for his dad for a few months and save up money for a car and then maybe start school in the following semester - unless he decides to just keep working. We'll see. It's his life now and he's got to figure out what he wants to do with it. (As we both well know, it takes longer for some of us than others to figure out what that is!)
